Elegant Finishing Touches Turn House into
a Design Home
With just one month left in the design
home schedule for this magnificent project to come together
for all
to behold, there's much yet to be accomplished. In a
secluded community high atop Thornberry Hill Court, landscaping
is underway, furniture is arriving by the truckload,
and the white glove test rapidly approaches. It’s
been months at a hectic pace with plenty of changes popping
up along the way, but all you can feel is excitement
in the air.
A Fine Selection of Furnishings
Thanks to a hard-working team of experts
from Israels, Design Home 2004 has been outfitted in
fine furnishings
with a hint of whimsy. Israels Designer Jim Miller
said their focus was on “newer colors in the
furniture and upholstery” and an interior that
was “family
friendly and welcoming.” A recurring color in the
home is the beautiful robin’s egg blue. Israels
repeated the trendy blue shade in the fabrics that adorn
the specially designed furnishings and accessories that
customize the home. In the Master Bedroom, Israels provided
the 18th century-inspired collection for a surprisingly
modern arrangement. Crafted of American Black Cherry,
the pieces refresh the vintage décor with a style
unequalled. For the sun room, a custom sofa from Israels
beckons the weary to come and sit a spell.
The generously
sized eating area accommodates a large 60-in. round table
for welcoming conversation. Provided
by Israels, the custom wooden table sports a stylish
and weathered wrought-iron base and is surrounded with
upholstered chairs in a leafy tone-on-tone fabric.
A Rich Tapestry of Fabrics
Nubby silks and vintage chenilles come together in luxurious
ways to create a rich tapestry, pulling from the browns
in the woodwork and flooring, and the blues in the sparkly
glass tiles to create one harmonious, as well as artful
display.
